The ticket sales has begun!

Massive interest encompasses the 55th World Table Tennis Championships which will be held in Budapest in April. The LOC stated at the press conference that the two-steps ticket sales has begun as well as the mascot was introduced for the first time.

Learning from previous events the Local Organising Committee decided to open the ticket sales abroad one day earlier than in Hungary in order to steer clear of overloading of the official website and the ticketing system.

“Eighty percent of the season passes are already bought and now comes the domestic market. Without carrying expectations too far, the interest is enormous.” – said Gábor Felegyi, General Director of WTTC.

You can find every kind of ticket and session passes at the official website of the event: or personally at the ticketing offices of as well as at the venues during the world championships.

“This is going to be the biggest world table tennis championships ever in the history of Hungary. In numbers, it means that more than half a billion people will watch the games on TV worldwide. Around one hundred colleagues are working on the event right now to reach one goal: organise another great event with huge success in Hungary.” – highlighted Roland Nátrán, President of Hungarian Table Tennis Federation.

On the other hand, at the press conference the mascot was revealed. The red fox was presented to the representatives of the media. The mascot does not have a name yet.  Who follows the Facebook-site of the Hungarian Table Tennis Federation can choose from the three finalist: Ropi, Pongi and HUba. These three were also suggested by the fans of our beloved sport.

The 2019 LIEBHERR World Table Tennis Championships will be held in 21 to 28 April at HUNGEXPO Budapest Fair Center.
